Works with Gen 1 iPad
2 of 2 found this helpful Powered up and found by iPad Bluetooth immediately. Comes with a very short power cord that is mini USB on one end (plugs into iPad) and reg USB on the other end. Cord is only about 24 inches long. I plugged it into my laptop USB port for initial charging, will need to source a longer cord with adapter for electrical plug at some point I guess. I unplugged it after several hours and have been using it for several hours, so far it is holding charge but I have not had it long enough to know how long the charge will last. The keyboard works fine and seems sturdy. Holds iPad steady and upright at a nice angle and works as a cover when not in use. For the price this is a steal and if you have a first gen iPad like me you know it is hard to find compatible peripherals (planned obsolescence). I can recommend this product as long as you have an available USB port on another device within 24 inches for charging, otherwise you will not be able to use it until you get a USB-to-electrical plug adapter.
