Father Brown:The Complete Collection DVD! LIKE NEW (E-327)
    Jun 29, 2016
    A bit dull.
I thought I'd enjoy this series more than I am. Father Brown is a bit dull as a character and sometimes does things that just don't make sense. Other characters are often overblown. I've watched only three episodes so far, so maybe I'll see improvement in later ones.

My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes That Saved My Life by Reichl, Ruth
    Jul 19, 2016
    Good writing, terrible binding
I love Ruth Reichl's writing and recipes, and this book is no exception. However, the binding is so tight that it strains my wrists to hold the book open enough to read it. I'm hoping a paperback will be released someday--and that it will be more usable. Also, the book could have used a better editor. So far, one photo of a lot of broccoli at a farmer's market has a caption referring to kale--no mention of broccoli. A discussion of butternut squash is illustrated with a photo of buttercup squash.
Death of a Dude Nero Wolfe
    Jul 12, 2016
    Nero Wolfe tales are timeless.
I love almost all of the Nero Wolfe mysteries, including this one. The tales are timeless despite the lack of certain modern-day elements, such as cellphones and computers. The two main characters--Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin--are exceptionally well portrayed. By all means, read and enjoy!
