Great choice for general streaming
4 of 4 found this helpful It was not the easiest to set up but not really that hard either. I wasn't able to set it up with a PC as I did in the past. I needed to download the Google Home app to my phone and tablet. I have 2 Chromecasts (one new and the other 2 yrs older) and operate them on the less crowded 5 GHz WiFi band but with the Google Home app, I can control them with my old tablet which only operates on 2.4 GHz WiFi! I use a Roku streaming box for most of my streaming as it operates much like a cable box. I use the Chromecast for content not available on Roku and for mirroring my computer screen. I purchased my latest one to watch Catholic Mass broadcast on Facebook. It works great with Chromebooks and smartphones. If you only want one streaming device and am willing to control it with a smartphone, tablet, or Chromebook, the Chromecast is a great choice!
