Requires internal batteries at all times, even though external power port is available.
0 of 4 found this helpful Even though this camera has an external power port, it also requires that the internal batteries are installed at all times. Internal batteries are known to leak and when they do leak, they corrode the internals of the camera destroying the camera. Other game cameras that I own allow powering via the external power port, without the need to install the internal batteries, thus protecting the camera from corrosion. I wrote to Moultrie to ask why they did this and if there was a way to bypass the internal batteries. They did not answer my questions and instead said that they recommend using the internal batteries as a backup, which is a useless response.

Too soon to tell.
Seems to be well made. However, the installation instructions were a bit confusing.
