Inspirational and easy to follow, whether you are a machinist or not.
Since purchasing this book a couple of months ago, I have made three dolls.
Doll making is a new hobby to me and I wasn't a great machinist, but this book has helped and inspired me to become more confident with sewing.
I purchased the book because I wanted to create something different other than sewing clothes etc., and this book gives you great ideas to be able to recreate the dolls using your own twist. Also, using watercolour pencils to create the dolls faces has been great fun, because your dolls expressions are all different to each other.
I purchased Jan Horrox 'Fantasy Dolls' book at the same time as this one, and have shared the ideas between the books too.
The pictures and instructions are clear. All you need to do is purchase some tracing paper for the patterns and off you go. However, I would say that machining the hands with fingers take practise, but when you master them they look great!
If you want a completely different project I really suggest you give this book a try.
