The classic Space Epic
1 of 1 found this helpful A highly influential epic on a Star Wars scale but with better writing. It has amazing visuals that looks as fresh in 2015 as they did in 1984. The film is filled with quirks that will either make you a life time fan or an instant opponent. The adaptation is solid but with one piece of new technology added. Lovers of the novel(s) may be a bit down on that single aspect but I think it serves the purposes of the film better.
If you love scifi, David Lynch or are a buff for pre-cgi special effects this is a must watch.
The Japan only 30th anniversary edition comes with a cut of the film in no other version. I was put together by a french film director to French TV, its a director's cut but not by the original director... very unique. If you are already a dune nerd this is worth a look.
The box art is fantastic, maybe the best version I have ever seen.
