Great addition after a few tweaks
I already had 2 TiVo Minis as part of my network and needed a 3rd. Although the model is an older model than the 2 I previously had, worked great for my purpose. My recommendation is:
1) make sure the previous owner has “deactivated” the mini from their account...they should have a case # if they spoke with TiVo...makes it a lot easier when you call TiVo and add it to your account
2) do a reset to factory default settings in the mini before you try to link it to your TiVo. This will erase all previous TiVos from the internal memory of the mini and makes it easier to know which “living room TiVo” you’re trying to connect to...you will then be prompted to download the most recent software for the TiVo mini (and possibly your TiVo if it hasn’t updated recently.
3) so a forced connect with the main TiVo and The mini so the TiVo knows the mini is part of your acct.
Took about an hour total but it’s a “set it and forget it” piece of hardware. Our guest room now has all the features our TiVo has without having to add a new subscription...would definitely do it again.

Easy upgrade for my navigation system

Best bang for the buck!
This router is a great router for a simple network. I replaced a Belkin wireless router with this one for several reasons:
1) I like the ability to access the quality of service settings to tweak my internet access settings,
2) Since my house is wired w/Cat 5 cable, I didn't really need a wireless network, and
3) I wanted something without latency issues when watching movies...I have my laptop's VGA output hooked to my 42" plasma in the great room (Netflix is awesome),
4) I am thinking of adding VOIP as my primary phone and I will be able to give priority to the phone with this router and adjust the QOS accordingly,
Since this is a switch and not just a router/hub, the speed is incredible!
I am very pleased with this router thus far and would recommend it to anyone wanting a "set it & forget it" network
