Replacement woofer works just fine in my old speaker

I have an old pair of Morel bookshelf speakers and one of them didn't work. Ended up replacing the woofer and tweeter and they work just fine.

My iphone does not support this connection.

After using the product for a few minutes I received a message to the effect that the "accessory is not supported by iPhone'. I lost the sound on what I was listening too and have to pull out the connection to start again. I don't have this problem with an original Apple accessory. There was also some static that I don't hear with the original Apple product.
