Better than the original.
1 of 2 found this helpful After watching (and loving) Bruce Willis' DEATH WISH, I watched Charles Bronson's four renditions, and I have to say, I would REALLY like to see Bruce Willis have a three or four movie series to show how it should be done (a la Liam Neeson's Taken series). Charles Bronson was very good in his movies and I think Bruce Willis is just as good, but the new DEATH WISH is a much better movie overall, what with modern production standards, special effects, and storytelling. Here's to DEATH WISH 2, 3, AND 4 starring Bruce Willis, and if they are only half as good as this one, they'll be fantastic!

True to the MASTERPIECE
1 of 1 found this helpful I am a HUGE Stephen King fan, so when this movie came out I knew I just HAD to see it on the big screen. I knew many of my fellow movie-goers were not as enthusiastic about the KING as I was, but I think that opinion changed radically for many of them after watching this WONDERFUL MOVIE. Aside from the incredible cast, beautiful cinematography and pitch-perfect production and direction, the thing that I focused on most when I discussed SHAWSHANK with my friends and anyone else who would listen was how true it was to the masterpiece written by the KING.
Since SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION came out on DVD I have seen it many times, and each time I see something new. Now on blu-ray, I am no longer just a bystander, and with the DIGIBOOK BLU-RAY I can re-live the experience long after the movie is done playing. SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and the DIGIBOOK format are a perfect match.

HUNGER GAMES blu-ray complete set: FANTASTIC!!
This is a great presentation of one of the greatest series ever filmed. I read the books before viewing the movies, and I wondered how they could ever do them justice on the big screen. Well, not only did they accomplish this, but they showcased the wondrous talents of a fantastic cast, making superstars of Jennifer Lawrence and, to a lesser extent, Josh, Liam, Woody, Elizabeth, Stanley, Lenny, Donald, Sam, Jena, Phillip, Julianne,... Seriously, when I think of the acting team assembled here, I am awed and amazed by how perfectly everyone did their part to bring the books to life. I fell in love with Katniss and her bravery, and that is because Jennifer was so perfect in every scene she was in. I try to imagine Katniss played by anyone else and I can't. Likewise, the other actors own their parts and these movies would have been diminished by anyone else.
Having all four movies on blu-ray in one case is nearly perfect. The only way to improve this product would have been in 3D, 4K and a steelbook case (all of which are already in my library). I would have loved to give more than 5 stars, and if they ever release a 3D 4K blu-ray set in a steelbook case, I may have to figure out how to do just that.
