Quadcore Thinkpad on the cheap.
Installed in an old Thinkpad T420, works great, although I use throttlestop and tpfancontrol.

Does what I need it to.
Pros: Fast, Extremely sturdy, Ink isn't $30/cc, handles NCR forms and cardstock.
Cons: Controls are a bit convoluted, Noisy
It's a dot matrix, inkjet quality isn't to be expected, but if you want something that always prints when you need it to, this the printer for you.
