Hi failure rate Morse CW decoder

After a few hours of setting up the decoder to receive code from a computer, I found the sweet spot of 750hz to 800hz tone with volume sensitivity almost maximum,clockwise on decoder. 7wpm to 40wpm was almost perfect copy. Then I unplugged audio input from decoder and plugged it into my ham radio. It worked only oin very crisp strong signal with tone set near 750hz... Then I plugged it back into computer and it spiked the computer and fried the mother board and it damaged itself as to not receive any more signals from any device. Support was terrible as they pushed me to bargain on refund and shipping cost. I had difficulty understanding the broken English responses. I had great fun for 2 hours playing with it. In the end it ruined a computer, itself, and not sure if I got any money back. I asked them to send me another decoder and could not make sense of their response. Terrible English in support Emails. I may try to repair mine as it has three common plug in ICs. But for now it's in junk box.
