Does what it's supposed to do...
... which is to protect your carbon cranks from ground/rock strikes. These replacements actually fit better than the ones that originally came with my cranks.
My only gripe is these things should cost $2, but whatever, $9 isn't going to break the bank either considering what we all spend on out MTB's.
