Works for non-DRM content
For things like PowerPoint presentations, this works fine. However, I don't think that it will allow you to watch DRM-protected content. Thus, I don't think you'll be able to use this to connect an old monitor to the HDMI port of a BluRay player and watch studio-made movies, but you should be able to watch home movies. The audio port is very convenient. I worked recently on a Dell tower that was connected to a projector through this adapter, and this tower had electrical noise plaguing its built-in audio jacks, but there was no noise from the audio jack on this adapter, so that's what we're using to connect the computer to the sound system in that room. It was a lucky break.
If you need an HDMI-to-VGA adapter, I highly recommend this one. At $8.99 with free shipping, what do you have to lose?

Beware. Lots of listings for the HD60 S+ (which works directly on Zoom) are actually for the HD60 S (which does not).
3 of 4 found this helpful The + makes a big difference.
The HD60 S+ works directly with Zoom. It's almost plug and play. After connecting it to your computer, you can just select it in Zoom settings as your video and audio source.
However, to use the HD60 S for Zoom, you have to capture the stream into something like OBS and then stream from OBS to Zoom.
The S+ also has a 3.5 mm audio jack that accepts line-level input. Handy!
But beware, there have been lots of listings for the HD60 S+ that are actually for the HD60 S. I think that sellers don't realize that there is a difference. Be sure that the photo of the actual device has the "S+" in the name.
