Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea

Well-written True stories

The author interweaves true accounts of living in North Korea and what it is like for those who attempt to escape to freedom. The book ends around the time KimJunil is approaching retirement...so I hope she is writing another right now that will reflect the more recent regime and the plight of the NK people as things are now.

This book is a beautiful illustration of Lewis Carol's poem"Jabberwocky." The words of the poem are not changed at all, but the illustrations that are paired with the poem tell an intriguing and illuminating story of a repeating arch in the story of humanity. Great info in the back as well about the artist, and about Lewis Carol himself.
