Serviceable Parts Require Quality Verification
One of the emblem’s inner (plastic) friction locking tabs was severely cracked and almost detached; confirmed upon removing the compression ring that forces the friction locking tabs outwards. Additionally, one of the shorter alignment tabs was also nearly detached.
I will attempt to mend both tabs with epoxy. A simple quality check — feeling for unusual “give” when pushing on a tab — would have identified these defects.
