Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital Elph 7.1 MP Camera

Metal case point-and-shoot digital camera for day-to-day use
I have bought more than 15 of Canon SD550 Power Shot point and shoot digital cameras from Ebay. I used them as presents to my friends and to members of my family. This particular model is built with hard metal case unlike most of point and shoot cameras (which were built with plastic case). Metal case cameras have two advantages over plastic case cameras: (1) They are more rugged and give better protection to the lens, should it accidentally fall onto the ground, and (2) They are heavier for the size of your palm, but not too heavy for carrying. Being heavier, you know you are carrying something when you aim and shoot your pictures. Canon SD500 belong to technology of at least 15 years ago, and thus they are thicker, which add another advantage for firm holding in your hand. Picture quality has been excellent if you are aiming for pictures of 2 Megabytes --- nice for general purposes. I have never missed a single shot with this camera. And, if you don't know it. they were excellently made in Jxxxx.

Most often used among all lenses.
Weight heavier than most lenses, Pentax FA* 28-70mm f2.8 has excellent built-quality as reflected from photos taken. Pros: - beautiful color - beautiful bokeh (if you know how to use f2.8 aperture in A-mode and choice of subject relative to background) - minimal distortion - ideal focusing range for traveling with one single lens - Pentax K-mount cameras (e.g. K-5 II, K-5 IIs) have built-in vibration reduction (image stabilizing), thus old obsolete Pentax lenses can be used as if they have image stabilizing. - no fringing (purple ring around subject in high contrasting lighting) Cons: - heavy and big, very noticeable to people when you aim. It's good and bad depending on shooting intention. - lens obsolete, thus very rare and high cost - price goes up when more photographers look for this lens. - for armature and professional, not quite for beginners, I think. Most often used among all lenses.

Canon PowerShot SX110 --- review and comments
What I don't like about this camera (Canon SX110) is its power supply. Besides the battery covering lid is hard to use, the camera sucks power like a suburban sucks gas, faster than I realized. For this reason, I bought rechargeable batteries (AA size) and thought that I could save some money in powering up the camera. Unfortunately, it does no good. The rechargeable AA batteries nowadays are mostly of 1.2 volt d.c. Even fully charged, the 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries become dead after a few shots. I don't know if they produce 1.5 volt rechargeable batteries anymore. (I couldn't find any now). The two problems seems to be depending of each other. That forces me to buy regular 1.5 volt AA batteries. This in turn creates a third problem, which is the "environmentally unfriendliness". Now I have to think about how to manage the used batteries. What is good about this camera is its high resolution and big display screen (3"). The IS feature is good but does not mean much to me. To people with shaky hands, the IS feature will be good to them. Another praise about this camera is its macro feature in close up shots. You can get a high resolution macro shot at object distant of 0.5" away from the lens. I would like to see two enineering disign improvements in Canon SX110: (1) Redesign its power supply so that Canon rechargeable batteries can be used, (2) Redesign its body material from plastic to stainless steel (full enclosure stainless steel) like that of Canon SD550 Power Shots. Hope these help.
