Any SSD will be a speed improvement over a hard drive. This however is "top shelf" and worth its premium! 1- It is faster than the vast majority of its competition. While too technical to go into here, there are far more than the 3 or 5 specifications usually provided in advertisements that reveal actual speed in use. This is zoom zoom fast! 2- Samsung provides a generous warranty. 3- Easy to use state-of-the-art software: Makes cloning your OS drive a breeze. Testing, diagnosing and configuring your drive AND the OS are included. An awesome caching program is included as well. 4- It's ONE GIG! In the future that won't be much, but for now it's great! Room for more than one Operating System, any frequently accessed program (browser, utility, game, Paging file...) will benefit. If you're sly you know what goes on in the background. Point it to your SSD and crank it up!

Asus - Brilliant
This bracket assists in securing a SSD card perpendicular to the motherboard. The additional support via a metal bracket provides many significant advantages: 1- It takes up very little MB space providing greater flexibilty of SSD placement and other components as well. 2- Reduces likelihood of thermal throttling by being exposing the SSD to airflow. It is unlike the all too common configurations where the SSD card is under the video card! Using this is worth the minor effort as ASUS not only provides true 4 PCI lanes to this socket but also connects them to the CPU (not "behind" another controller). Get the 4 x 3 speed you paid for. Zoom zoom!

Truly Useful
Though its not apparent in the photo, the bright and powerful fan is in a 3D gimbal mounting which is topping off a flexible stalk. Wow! You can easily point its cooling power anywhere. While it has switch mounted speed control, you can control its brightness and volume if your motherboard supports this feature. I knew I wanted this, now discontinued, Antec fan when I started looking for it. Places were selling (I assume..at least listing) these for $63 each! I bought two here. They arrived quickly, bubble wrapped, in factory new (like on the retail shelf) packaging. Useful, attractive, durable,easy to use and cheap!
