Worthless as a measuring tool

Right out of the box, there is .0015 of backlash in the thimble. Between appx. .400 to .850 the thimble is so stiff you can barely turn it. You can't even use it for a reference tool, because between the lash and the stiffness you have no idea where your measurement truly is. An absolutely useless measuring tool.
