Seems to work just fine. I went to go program this APIM with the VIN that it was sold as and my ForScan tool showed it was already programmed and ready to go. So it made my job super easy. Only issue I had was because of my car being a 2015 Police Interceptor the APIM is located under the glovebox. So I needed to buy an extension cable to mount this one (different then the SYNC 1 module I started with) This item allowed me to convert my Ford 4 inch media screen to an 8 inch aftermarket setup. For some reason if anybody is wanting to do this mod you will need the following... Ford Sync 2 or 3 APIM (buy the APIM and Screen as one unit for the Taurus. You need the screen bracket!) 8 inch screen bracket 8 inch bezel Sync 1 to 2/3 conversion cable
