Joey Heatherton Limited Edition CD
I purchased this CD after watching a tape of an old Dean Martin Varity Show on which Heatherton was a guest star. I had forgotten what a exciting performer she was. In the mid to late sixties (when I was a young man) it seemed Heatherton was every place you looked - TV - Movies - Magazines, USO tours with Bob Hope you name it and Joey had it covered. I then searched eBay to see what was available with Joey Heatherton and found this Limited Edition CD.I remembered her cover of the old Ferlin Husky hit “Gone" track 7 on this CD and it is great. Another tune Heatherton covers well is Patsy Clines "Crazy" The first 10 songs on the CD are from her 1972 MGM album tracks 11-18 were released as singles and include an interesting cover of “I’ll Be Seeing You” and tracks 19-21 are listed as previously unreleased. The CD comes in a fold out case with a booklet that includes the original MGM album cover photo as well as some other nice photos of this beautiful entertainer. In all honesty the upper nude of Joey Heatherton on the front cover makes the price I paid look worth every penny. The sound quality is great, if you don't have this CD and are a Heatherton fan or you are intrested in hearing her sing for the first time This Limited Edition CD is a must have.

The Very Best Of Julie London
I have been a fan of Julie London since I first heard "Cry Me A River".It was about 1960,and the song had been around awhile (1955 ?)but it still got air play from time to time in the small town where I grew up. I had reached the age where those album covers were getting my attention.I saw her on T.V. fairly often and as the years have rolled on I have come to really appreciate what a wide range of talent she had,not only for her music but for her raw talent.Della Reese & Ella Fitzgerald and others may have had more range vocally but on the other hand they did not star in a dozen or so movies and have a leading role in a long running T.V. series as Julie did, along with a singing career.London had a way of caressing a song,it made you feel you were in the middle of it,made you feel you should be listening to it with someone you cared for, maybe siping a little wine with.I have every thing she ever put on vinyl, but this CD brings it back with great clarity remastered to sound as great as ever. There are 50 songs on these two disc's and that in itself makes it an exceptional buy and they include some of London's finest work.A couple of my favorites are "Sway"wich I have heard in a remix with Dean Martins version of the same song,I am quite fond of her version of "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning" and "The Days of Wine & Roses" is very smooth.Buy this one play it and you will understand where some of todays talent like Diana Krall found there early inspiration. As movie and TV producers continue to use her music in new production's her music will continue to be "rediscovered"by folks much younger than me.Julie London died at age 74 October 18, 2000

Two Dollar Bettor, Worth The Risk
I'm a horse racing enthusiast, consequently I enjoy movies based on the sport. "Two Dollar Better" was not bad although somewhat corny in spots and it made betting on horses look like something very evil. The lead in this film was played by a veteran of many films from that era and he did a fine job playing a good man drawn by the promise of easy money. John Litel will be recognized right away by those who like old films even if his name is not widely known. This movie is a level above most films from this era about horse racing. It kept my wife's interest throughout and that is a very good gage of plot and overall quality.
