Incredibly useful invention!
What a wonderful tool! Our house sorely needed cleaning in obscure spots that would have required moving some very heavy furniture... "Robby" got it cleaned. Within about two hours of receiving the robot we had a fabulously clean, dust free house. I would recommend this to anyone ... and particularly to people who need to have a continuously dust free house. It works great.
A friend of ours said ... "and then you had to go get the spots that it missed"... well, there were so few weird places that it couldn't get to that I had to seriously think about any "down side" to this machine with respect to efficiency. NONE. Even if you spend all of the time to move furniture and manually clean with a dust mop or whatever, it will not be done as well as the Roomba can do. If you are so particular that small spots are an issue, then your going to have to clean them manually anyway... it's just that Roomba will clean 99% of the area and save you a great amount of time and effort.
There was one area in the house that my wife felt could never be cleaned... guess what? Roomba did it. It was a strangely patterned rug that had many levels to it.
The ONLY downside that we have experienced is that you need to make sure Roomba has room to move... if you have a lot of junk on the floor that doesn't allow it to move into the area, it will not go... BUT, that would be the case if you manually cleaned the area anyway. Roomba even helps you to "get your organizing act together" because you then realize how cluttered your house is. It took us about 20 minutes to get stuff off the floor that constricted its movements.
