A Duesengberg for an expierenced modler, to make it look superb.
This model is approx. 12 inches long. Gaberiel é Hubley mold tooling from circa 1963, new box 1977.
comes with approx. one third white metal, one third plastic and one third chrome plated plastic. real rubber tires and an asortment of screws. the design is based on a real car, and this kit has realistic detailed parts for an good replication. approx. 160 parts. there is alot of flashing to sand away, and then more sanding to have some parts to fit. The metal needs to be cleaned and primed before applying enamel paint. the plastic is fine with acrylic paint. The instructions are a bit combersome and the schematic illustrations are small and difficult to comprehend. - make sure you dry fit everything before gluing, use epoxy for the metal parts, not cynoacrylate. Over all, this kit is good from its vintage time period, it is for a very experienced modeler. a novice will have difficulties. I build museum quality models and always add more to the model in terms of authentic colors and make extra detail parts, which this kit deserves.

Accurate Historic model kit.
This 2003 anniversary kit is very basic with 52 parts. tail to nose is 7.25 inches and a 11.5 inch wingspan. It includes a very detailed cockpit with a Lindberg figure sitting inside. The 1927 real plane is a very simple design so the model follows that simplicity and is easy to assemble. The replica decals for the front fuselage cover the entire area and fit well. The instruction color scheme for the interior is wrong, I suggest looking up the real images of the original plane for accuracy. The exterior plane color is called "Silver Dope" which is cellulous acetate with Aluminum particles to reflect the sun. Any dull (non metallic) silver paint should be sufficient to product the desired color at a small scale. Over all, I recommend the kit, as it is accurate at scale and its in my aviation collection because of its historic achievement.
