Perfect Replacement
My 1955 Collins R388/UR had a leaking electrolytic plug in capacitor. I replaced it with this modern unit, and it's working well. I looked at a can cap of similar specs for 1/2 the money, but wanted to keep the old radio "stock." Not much more to say other than if you need one of these, this is where to get one.

Powerful
Excellent luminous flux output. Provides lock to prevent unauthorized use. Machining of device adequate, but could be better. I'd buy again and recommend to anyone needing an exceptionally high powered pointer or who likes to put on a light show.

Supurb CW QRP Transceiver
This is the radio that began Elecraft's march to ham radio fame. In this radio you see the start of the design that evolved into the K3s of today. The K1 is very sensitive; and if you play with the excellent filters (3) of them and the RIT, you will achieve all the selectivity necessary to separate stations on top of each other. It has big rig features such as memory keyer, RIT, XIT, antenna tuner, noise blanker and a micro computer for setting up calibration of the s meter, frequency read out, filter adjustment and much more. My most favorite thing about this tiny is the sound of the received CW thtough the speaker or phones, a very sweet sound. The basic kit is $299 from Elecraft. Every ham who likes CW needs a K1 in their life.
