Bang for the buck
1 of 1 found this helpful I got this item at a really good bargain. I paired this with my non 5G modem and was able to double my wifi speeds in bad areas. On the 5G network of course. Yes, it gave me 5G on the other side of my house. This sucks because most of my devices are 2.4G. This repeater has the capability to be an access point by connecting data to any of the ports. I plan on doing that eventually because there is too much interference between the repeater and modem. But for now, I am definitely satisfied with the product. The only downside was that the 2.4G frequency gave me poor results. It probably has something to do with the interference issue. 2.4G should have more channel options than 11. So, with poor 2.4G coming in, don't expect great results coming out. As a repeater the 2 4G has to be on the same channel as your modem. That is why I plan on using it as an access point. But because my modem isn't 5G, I'm able to manipulate the 5G channels. Setup was easy. All you have to do is connect to it, go to mywifiext.com, configure, and enjoy.
