Perfect Solution For Local Channels
1 of 1 found this helpful Has been a great machine. Works perfectly just like all Tivos do. So many cool features I wish all my viewing was through the Roamio. Currently use PS Vue with Fire TV and those two together are amazing. The Fire TV is super fast and has Hulu, Netflix, Google, Amazon, etc so I am really only down to two input TiVo and Fire TV. Even sort of gave up Chromecasting to the Fire TV so things are simpler now. Down to just 2 remotes (but with a very sweet sidekick for the Fire TV).
Only negative on the Roamio is it doesn't support CEC. They claim it doesn't need to because it more of an always on device. WRONG. Every time I go to use it it is asleep. Hit the TiVo button to wake it up. Put the damn CEC commands in there so it would switch channels and or turn on the TV. Tons of people on the forums agree. I guess the design engineers just blew it on thinking that one through and it probably can't be updated in. It's a small thing but once you have all your gear running CEC, constantly having TIVO disappoint you adds up.
