Terrible shiny coating.
These wheels are great for G scale frieght cars. However, recent production of these wheels has some kind of new plating that makes the wheels very shiny. The older production, although could have been better, had a mild black coating which made the wheels somewhat more proto typical. The new shiny coating is terrible. VERY unproto typical. This kind of production does not serve the hobby and portrays a self-serving mind set of the industry. The industry can do a better job. Correct blackening of the wheels while at the same time maintaining price is the goal. It can be done. The question is, will they.
