Handy Tool!
I own one of these and I find it very handy for guiding small pieces of fabric under the sewing machine foot as you sew. Also good with curved piecing, applique. etc.

Zany and fun!!
This hilarious book is the perfect gift for young adults or any adult who doesn't want to grow up. The whimsical, quirky illustrations compliment the self-conscious and awkward situations of becoming an "adult." One disclaimer: There are a few characterized cartoons of a talking uterus, that, while funny, may be too bizarre or sensitive for some readers.

A lovely story of hope and human connection!
This book was published in 1969 and I read it for the first time several years later when I saw it in my grade-school library. As a child, I enjoyed the story of the lonely orphaned girl who had nothing but her art of making dolls to comfort and support her. I later came across the book as an adult, and, as an artist myself, really identified with the story's message of hope and human connection through art and creativity. It's a great little story to read with your child, or simply to nurture your own inner child.
