KVM Switch Shares Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse between desktop and laptop. Supports Dual-Monitor "Extend Desktop" feature in Windows with Laptop. Perfect!
This performs the function we needed it for at work.
We have a mixed set up with desktops and laptops to Work from Home or out in the field.
When employees bring their laptops into the office, they want to use the desktop monitors, keyboards, and mice with their laptops, similar to a docking station. A docking station is typically only workable when you're *only* using the laptop, and the monitor, keyboard, and mouse are dedicated to the docking station / laptop.
With this setup, employees can switch the monitor keyboard and mouse over to the laptop when connected to the KVM via HDMI+USB, and they can use the extra monitor for a dual-monitor "Extended Desktop" setup.
After initial setup and configuration of Windows' "Multiple Monitor" / "Extend Desktop" features, it seems to work like a charm. Also the built-in button / "switch" makes it very simple to switch back and forth, whereas with the previous solution of an HDMI--> VGA cable, they had to fiddle around with the monitor manually each time to select the input source. With this, they just press a button and it switches back and forth like magic.

1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this item new / sealed for ~$80, which wasn't a terrible price. Granted I'm surprised memory isn't dirt cheap yet, but that's neither here nor there. Bought this to upgrade a laptop as a project for a friend's kid. This is the low-power PC3L version, which not all laptops support. But this laptop takes both regular PC3 and PC3L[ow-voltage] memory.
Popped it in, put the cover back on, and away it goes. Memory used to peg at 100% usage fairly frequently with 4GB, now it usually sits at relatively low percentage of total memory being in use, except when doing heavy work. The 5400 rpm hard disk is still the system bottleneck. But, at least the memory won't be one anymore. PNY seems to generally make good memory products, IMO. Whether flash drives or desktop/laptop memory. Generally seems to work well.
I've only had it in for a few weeks, so can't comment on long-term stability/quality. But, so far so good. No glitches straight out of the bubble pack. Fingers crossed, it'll remain working well for many years to come!
