Easy to use, some shortcomings
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased the camera for its' HD and expanded memory features, to produce film shorts and YouTube videos. The camera is lightweight, very portable, and easy to use, especially with a tripod and remote. The picture quality is very good, the audio is average and I haven't been able to rig an external microphone to improve it. The Canon editing software does not work on a Mac, but the camera downloads to iMovie easily. I've had problems converting and uploading to the internet with severe loss of visual quality however. My old High8 gave me a better overall quality for internet use!

Reliable - a hard working and long lasting model!
3 of 3 found this helpful I had my old machine (same model) for almost 8 years, but the poor thing was starting to make noises (don't we all with age)? It had been a steadfast and reliable machine, and I never considered a different brand. The one just purchased is so slick and fast! It's amazing how you forget what new is like. My rolling time is so much quicker. Sure it can still jam, but I find that's as much about how you pack it and more importantly, how fresh and moist the tobacco is. I wouldn't consider another brand for an electric machine, but to be honest, this is hurricane country so a manual back up is important during power outages.

Disappointing for this brand's line of products
The product leaks at the low end, the rubber gasket top (2 pieces) flies off when you hit a bump, the pins holding it to the base fall out (never to be found again), the hose kinks and I can't suck hard enough to get water past the kink. The directions for assembly are very poor for a first time user. Partial solutions - don't fill it completely and what leaks out will be less annoying. After losing the pins, I used metal twist-ties that used to be included with a package of garbage bags. I replaced the hose with an oversized plastic accordian straw. Gasket top, haven't found a solution, but I'm tempted to try super-glue.
