RE7000 great as WiFi range extender and remote ethernet port
1 of 1 found this helpful Using the RE7000 as a range extender to hardwire an Apple 4 TV to my network via the ethernet port, and set up a WiFi hotspot for an LG OLED 4K TV and Samsung BluRay, all on an Apple AirPort Extreme router. The speed is great, and there's no buffering at all. The setup was pretty easy via the unit's web access page, and I can clearly get both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands. One secret: if you use MAC addresses to control access to your main network, you need to add the main RE7000 hardware MAC address, and the four LAN MAC addresses (2 per band) the unit uses to communicate with the router. Those MAC addresses are clearly visible on the RE7000 web page. If you don't add the additional MAC addresses, the unit will not work with MAC address control activated on the router.
