Its alot bigger than it looks in the picture
When i got it there was something shaking around in it, turns out that that is the anti tip mechanism. i originally thought it was broken during shipping. it certainly was annoying with how much it bounces it sounds like an empty paint can. so i took it apart inside theres a little chamber with a ball if the ball sits on the switch the heater works if the switch isnt held down it stops working so if you tip it the ball falls out of place and shuts the thing down. what i did to quiet it is do a quick 400 grit sand on the ball and then spray rubberized undercoating on it wait for it to dry, roll it over and do another light coat for full coverage . its heat resistant has a soft touch feel and was only 20 mins of work and was a simple enough fix but i think theres better, more quiet ways of making anti tip from the factory so that the end user doesnt need to improvise to make the thing quiet....
the product itself works fine. it heats up my Honda Element nicely in about 20 minutes. the problem is you cant adjust the direction of the head and i bought it thinking i was going to build a shelf around the top of the ceiling for storage then drill a hole in it to support the bottle up top and screw the mr buddy into the bottle and have it mounted through my shelf pointing downwards. problem is if i do that than the anti tip no longer works so i cant actually use it. for what i paid its not a big deal. i can find something different.... can always use it later somewhere else.

just... dont....
1 of 1 found this helpful it isnt molded as an exact fit for an outside the window track type of mounting system the ends should be raised to accommodate the step up for the mirror and the step up for the b pillar, i tried 4 different times to mount them and the ends kept separating from the car no matter how clean it was or how it was placed. i even tried using a heat gun my last attempt to get the tape to bond better and left it taped/clamped in place for 2 hours while it cooled down with my doors open. Then i go outside yesterday after hottest day so far(92 F) after almost 2 weeks of them being on the car and the side that was sitting in the sun had sagged in the middle. I then had to take them off becuase they looked like hot garbage. Not only that the tape they use when shipped to you is a foam based tape so when you remove it it leaves foam residue on the vent visor and the car causing you about an hour or two of scrubbing with some lighter fluid or rubbing alcohol to get the stuff off.... what a waste of the $27 i spent plus the $20 i spent on 3m tape for multiple install attempts. just dont do it to yourself, just spend the money for some Weathertech Vent Visors and save yourself the hassle. besides Weathertech's mount in the window tracks and its harder to just walk up and steal them off the car

Save your money for a real badgeless grill
Its made out of the cheapest most brittle plastic ever. mine got too hot in the sun the first week i had it and now the fins are sagging a lil bit. Id assume that when i goto replace it that its going to break at least 3 out of the 4 clips that hold it to the bumper. the price is fine for $40 but this thing could use some better quality plastic in the molding process
