Works great!
worked perfectly first time, but have only had it for a week so I don't know if they will last a long time, but so far, so good!

Farfetched, disappointed story about a charity that I love
It seemed unrealistic that the child in this story would just happen to be adopted by the adults in this story. I had hoped to read this to my Sunday school students and decided that it was not what I had expected. I am very involved with the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child project and have been making shoeboxes for nearly two decades but this book is a dud, in my opinion.

Readable and humorous and brings history to life
Despite how long this book is, I find it very readable and humorous and not dry or stuffy in the least. I read a chapter nightly. This book is not something I would ordinarily find so compelling, but I saw a documentary on Amazon, and was intrigued. It helped me understand a lot of what was going on prior to the Civil War and the earlier parts go into detail about the Mexican was which was something I was pretty unaware of.
