Just a slight squeeze.....
Very compact, just insert tip of lever, give mag a slight squeeze and there you have it.
It can remove baseplate just fine, I do however recommend applying a small amount pressure to the sides of mag with free hand to take some pressure off of the locking tabs on mag body, it will extend their usable life.Also there is a newer version of this tool that has a built in pin punch to drive out pins from frame. It is a bit more money, but if you want a tool for mag and pistol it fits the bill.

It will not connect to smartphone at all, it will ight up white, but you cannot control them. Old tech.
