Product is poor quality
Dimensions are very off from the original pickguard that comes factory stock with an explorer shaped guitar. Expect to toss it or have a file ready

Very good value for money
For those that are on the fence of getting either this or other large name brands such as Alienware/ ASUS, I highly recommend this laptop. The fact that you can get the latest NVIDIA GPUs backed with relatively fast i7 CPUs (even though Skylake generation was just released) in this laptop at a very good price to cost ratio is more than enough to drive a good bargain. Get this laptop or any of MSI's other laptops on sale whenever you can if you are considering a desktop replacement or simply a nice gaming laptop.
PROS:
-Relatively light for a 17.3" screen laptop, definitely lighter than an ASUS and especially Alienware laptops in the same price range
-Steelseries keyboard is actually very responsive, accurate, and feels good to the touch, which I used to write this.
-Dynaudio System included (2014 and earlier models) is actually one of the better sound systems that you can find on a laptop and is highly customizable with included EQ software by Sound Blast Cinema.
-NVIDIA 970m GPU is the latest series for gaming and is extremely capable of running any currently released game on ultra settings at full 1080p. HOWEVER, NVIDIA advertised these as 4k ultra HD ready and based on my tests with a Samsung 4k TV, IT IS NOT. Frame rates are very unstable and my guess for those wanting to get a 4k capable laptop, I would recommend waiting another year or two for newer GPUs that have more power to run full 4k resolution. This laptop is strictly a 1080p HD laptop, which is very good already.
-The built in cooling system is actually very good and can keep the keyboard relatively cool on its own given the fact that you have this plugged in and can easily last you a good 4-6 hours of gaming before it gets noticeably hotter.
-Decent upgrade ability to include aftermarket SSD cards of your choosing, which is a generous bonus offered by MSI.
-Decent power consumption rate, actually wasn't as high as I expected given the size of this laptop.
CONS
-Downside of the cooling system is that it is quite loud, but if you aren't nit picking, it is barely noticeable.
-Screen is not IPS, so certain viewing angles are not that pleasant, but even though it is lacking this in comparison to competitors, it isn't that big of a deal if you are viewing this right in front of you.
-Not 4k UHD ready, and can only be considered a con if you are planning to get this and use it for future 4k use. In that sense, this laptop is not as future proof for games that will eventually be released in 4k. However, that might be quite some time from now, and for full 1080p gaming, this laptop is definitely future proof and will last you for quite some time.
-Short battery life if not plugged in. At most I got a little over 2 hours unplugged in gaming situations and 4 hours under light use.

For Pantera/Dimebag/Damage plan Fans
First off, the shape of the Dean ML, especially a well made one such as this one (made in south Korea, but very close to the quality of made in usa), is very well balanced, like most flying v shaped guitars. It has no neck drop, and sits comfortably standing up or sitting down. A good quality strap helps as well.
As for sound, the Seymour Duncan Dimebucker is a very hot and high gain pickup. It's voicing is definitely more treble based along with slightly scooped mids, which very much fits Dimebags tone. However, along with some EQ tweaking, it can easily pull off some less gainy tones, such as classic and hard rock. Cleans are decent, and the pickup voicing by itself is alright for pulling off some blues licks, but definitely don't expect to pull off fender cleans.
Now the USA dimetime neck pickup also has a slightly scooped mid sound with a bit more bass than say a Seymour Duncan 59 or Jazz in the neck. With gain and distortion it has a very smooth and buttery sound that is well rounded. As for cleans, it can easily do blues and jazz tones if you play around with the volume and tone knobs along with your amps EQ settings.
Aside from these unique tonalities, this guitar is mainly a metal machine that can pull off some cleaner tones if eq'd properly. Also, these pickups are in a mahogany bodied guitar so tone may vary in different woods.
Lastly, the v shaped neck is actually quite fast and allows for easy upper fret access. It isn't exactly a thinner ibanez wizard speed neck, and it isn't exactly a thicker gibson les Paul neck either. It is somewhere between the two neck profiles and has enough chunk of wood to provide a very full dynamic sound range.
All in all, if you are a Dime fan, then I can easily recommend this awesome guitar.
