High cost, but worth it
I have had the old DVD copy of Apt Pupil for years. Some how I missed the initial release of the Bluray when it came out a few years ago. However, I must say this Bluray is better in every way. High quality picture and sound, with more intense colors. I hate these Bluray's run close to $100 these days, but for a Bryan Singer completeness, it's a must have for any collection and is a much improved quality product over the DVD.

A great fun film that has been forgotten, but look fantastic on bluray!
I watched this film in cinemas when it was released in 2001. When I found out there was a bluray version from Olive Films, I jumped on the opportunity to purchase this film in high def. While I do enjoy the story and characters, I feel this is one of Barry Levinson's final films worth watching; further enhanced by the quality of the film on bluray, which is fantastic! Picture quality is so clean and clear, I think it may look better then when I watched it in theaters! Colors are beautiful and tuned just right. The cinematography of Dante Spinotti (Heat, LA Conifdential) really shines through on bluray. Sound quality is also good, but the picture is the best part on this release. The bluray is region locked to region A. I am not a fan of region locking films on discs. I actually buy overseas films all the time and use a region free system. But, for this film, I highly recommend this movie on bluray. It looks 100 times better on bluray then DVD! Come on people, support these types of releases from companies like Olive Films or Twilight Times that give us great films on bluray at super high quality, while at the same time, they know all their titles released will not always sell out. It's great to have companies like this pushing out films the studio think will never be worth making in mass quantities. Definitely get this on bluray if your a fan! -enjoy-

Fun adventure before CGI galore!
I love this film! Released in 1990, it had an exciting cast. Great story without all the CGI fill in that plagues films today. If you love WW2 films, this one deserves to be in your collection. Directed by Michael Caron-Jones, this was his 2nd film after the underseen Scandal (1989). He went on to make a few film in Hollywood before returning to British tv and film release primarily.
