Plantronics Voyager Focus UC B825 Stereo Bluetooth Noise Cancelling PC Headset
May 20, 2020
Great Comfort, Good Sound, Out-Dated ANC
The headset functions are great as you would expect from Plantronics. Easy pairing with PC and phone, good mic quality and battery life. The comfort and feel is great, I can wear them almost all day with little fatigue on my ears or scalp. As headphones they're okay, I'm a budget audiophile and the sound is a little muddy but not offensive. For podcasts and the like they are fine. With ANC on the bass is enhanced but not overblown and I think most people will be pleased. Speaking of ANC (active noise cancelling) these remind me of the first pair of ANC headphones I had 16 years. The blot out background noise but do little to silence voices. Compared to ANC from Sony, Sennheiser, or Bose they are severely lacking. The on-ear design helps to make them lightweight but it limits the amount of passive noise cancellation. If I was paying full price ($300) I would consider returning them, but for under $100 I'll keep them. Ultimately these are a bit outdated (they use micro USB for charging too) but still a great value if you need an all-day headset that can double as headphones.
