Indestructable Essential
I've been using the Mophie PRO for over 4 years traveling all over the world. Sand in Tanzania, Rain in DRC, mud in Kenya, rough hiking in the mountains and then sea salt spray. Have managed to really trash the protective screen but nary a dent, scratch or drop of water on the phone. I've provided the first two I bought to Missionaries who still use them. This is the third one that I was going to use myself, but it's on its way to places unknown to work with an NGO. Couple it with a Mophie PowerPack Pro and a solar charger and you can go off grid indefinitely.

My second favorite iPhone
I service and repair iPhones for occasional international travelers. I need one that's dependable, fairly rugged, has essential features and some nice tweeks. I can't afford one that's unreliable or will cause problems when away from home and I would like to get it back in good shape with a minimum of interim drama. My "Favorite" for that purpose is the iPhone 4S, next is the 5C. I really prefer the 5C but the lack of a waterproof battery pack is the only main drawback that prevents it from being my number 1 choice. All that said, the iPhone 5C is my personal, old reliable for my personal use. All I need without a finicky, unforgiving fingerprint sensor. If it breaks, it's fixable as long as you don't wash it - just saying.

Surprising Uses
1 of 1 found this helpful I've carried a spork everywhere I travel but the Snow Peak Titanium is the best. The rest bend, break or even rust, but not this one. My wife loves Klondike Chocolate Covered ice cream bars - eats them on a plate and used to chase them around to break that thick delicious chocolate. She's now the proud owner of her own Green Spork - breaks the chocolate cleanly and easily. Now no more chasing the last little bits and no left overs. You ought to try it ;-)
