Better for some applications than Gen 2 sensor
I actually like this sensor better than the Gen 2 for some applications. It does not have the range that the Gen 2 does, meaning the two halves have to be pretty close to work reliably, but this is smaller that the Gen 2 and works better in a situation where space is an issue. It is compatible with the Gen 2 base.

Very useful in rentals.
I use these in my rentals to alert me to clogged sanitary lines, sump pump failures and clogged drains on AC condensate pans. It is nearly a real time alert and turns a major problem into a very minor problem. The temperature alert is good for when tenants are out of town in both hot and cold weather so that you know if the heat or AC has stopped working. The humidity alert is just an added feature to me. Good product that is now easier to configure.
