The Roads That Built America by Dan McNichol
This book was very disappointing for many reasons. I initially purchased it after the author and his book were quoted in the History Channel program Modern Marvels SUPERHIGHWAYS. From the title I mistakenly thought this book was about the Interstate Highway System and the history behind it. While the history of America's roads is interesting and informative in the first half of the book, the second half that actually speaks of the Interstate Highway System talks of it in a very negative light. Way too many side-stories that speak of assumed injustice to neighborhoods and much 'editorializing' by the author from the Liberal point of view. Three-quarters of the way into the book it was less about the roads and more of a crying towel for the 'wronged' and 'ill-served'. This book did a disservice to itself and the title by getting so far off topic. I did not even finish it.

Apollo The Race To The Moon
Without a doubt the best, most informative book ever written on the history of The Apollo Program. I read it once a year - it's that good.
