GALAXY ANGEL In Name Only
Though GALAXY ANGEL RUNE has its entertaining moments, it is not to be compared to the original GALAXY ANGEL series, which I regard as an anime classic.The problem lies mainly with the writing; it's just not as clever or funny as it ought to be, though there's a fairly engaging cast of characters. The original Angels show up at one point, but not much is done with them. Basically, the GALAXY ANGEL name is being used as a selling point, and most fans are going to feel cheated.
I got Volumes 1 through 3 brand new and pretty cheaply. A Volume 4 was released, but it's extremely hard to find, and may not be worth a great deal of effort. It probably came out just as Bandai USA was going under. I'll be surprised if GALAXY ANGEL RUNE ever gets reissued on Blu-ray.
Get these if you find a good price and want to be a GALAXY ANGEL completist like me...others beware.
