I was working in the 26th precinct in Harlem during this real story
Detective Jorgenson worked very hard with this real life adventure. At this time in reality, 1978, phony 10-13 (assist patrolman) calls were made to trap, kill and/or harm police officers, much like they are doing today. At this time the phony call was made concerning this mosque in the 28th precinct in Harlem that a police officer was in trouble and needed help. Lights & sirens blasted as all radio cars sped to the scene. Four police officers arrived first at the scene and all the doors to this mosque, which were usually always closed and locked, were wide open and unlocked. As police officers rushed into the mosque the doors slammed shut, were locked and the police were trapped within and beaten to a pulp. One police officer had his gun taken from him and was shot and killed with it while inside the mosque. This leads to the story of the Circle of six, which included the mosque's director, Faracham, Mayor Lindsey, Al Sharpton among 3 others. I believe you will enjoy this story which is real life and true and handled quite diligently by the books writer who was the investigator of this terrible crime.
