This reel is Amazing,
Picked this up for night time cat fishing because I didn’t like to throw my bait caster at night and I don’t like spinning tackle for the big boys. Testing it out, and comparing side by side with my conventional reel, using the same one ounce lead sinker, I was amazed that I could get the weight out about 5 or more yards consistently with the Shakespeare. And the retrieve is smooth and quiet. The whole thing is metal and heavy like my 808, not really high quality, but let me tell you, it’s not junk! And it’s about as strong as my 808 at fighting catfish up to about the 10 lb. size like I typically catch with it. Well worth the $20 bucks I spent on it and do recommend it but for stronger arms, and especially night fishing for hawgs.
