A cost-effective solid 2 conductor cable for low-voltage, low current applications
This is a good 2 wire cable for in-wall, exposed, or plenum use, to run remote speakers or other for other uses where a separate ground conductor is not required.

An excellent unit with a long-life LiFePo battery, but installation instructions should be better
This is a great product with a long-life LiFePO battery, versatile mounting options and built-in emergency lights. It can also run an EVOD series remote head to illuminate the area outside the exit.
The only drawback is that the unit is somewhat difficult to prepare for installation because the case is hard to open, wire routing inside is crowded, and the instructions are poorly illustrated -- hence four stars instead of five. Once installed it is attractive and should last for many years.
The front and back of the case are held on by tabs molded into the frame of the unit. To remove, carefully insert a small screwdriver to release each tab. Lift the case off the tab, rather than trying to bend the tab. Starting at the back, insert a small flat screwdriver between the tab and the case on the side away from the center frame, then lift gently to release the tab and push the the case away from the frame (see the photograph). Then repeat for the tab on the other side of the back, and remove the back.
Next, remove the front the same way as the back, but with the added convenience that the screwdriver can now be inserted between the frame and the front. Leave both panels off until all further steps in the instructions are complete and the battery connector has been installed.
For a one-faced installation, is usually easiest to install the sign on a junction box in the wall behind. But the unit comes with a pedestal for mounting on a wall or ceiling. It also has both a solid back and a second red/white face to allow either one or two-sided installation. For wall mounting, note that the batteries should be located in the upper right corner of the front side so they can more easily be replaced if necessary.
