This ink is not soluble in water. If you want your notes to survive a long time, then it is important to use an unfading and water insoluble ink. The ink is pigment based and therefore likely to clog fountain pens. However Platinum are marketing a fountain pen of their own design specifically for use with their ink. I have written with that fountain pen and found that it had a very fine nib. It is also possible to buy this ink in 60cc bottles for use with dip pens.
