Great Palimsest!
Excellent teaching tool for the wards, for medical students and residents alike.

A first class effort from a dying giant
A last gasp by "The Shack" to make a true 10 meter ham rig.
It is not an "import radio", although I'm sure someone has modified it for CB. With a decent whip (I use a trimmed 11 meter CB vertical I got at the local CB store) I am DXing Morocco, England and Australia from a car in Texas!
The unit provides 25 watts of solid SSB, and has a jack for CW, which works just fine. CW comes in useful if you want to tune this with an SWR meter, since you need a carrier to do that. And doing Morse from the car on a moutain overlook is kind of cool!
I am a bit sorry it doesn't have FM, but I see only a little traffic there anyway.
Overall, a first class effort from a dying giant.
Pity.

Classic Hollow State Radio
Motorola knocked it out of the park with this one!
These were a classic shop radio. No added features, just turn it on, and forget it.
Built like a tank, they continue to surprise people used to planned obsolescence.
I would take one of these over any solid state tinker toy, any day.
