Do a test fit.
1 of 1 found this helpful Had to buy a shim kit to get the gas tube opening to line up. It happens. My barrel nut wrench did not line up with the holes on the barrel nut. After giving my wrench a good look over I could see that the pins needed to be ground down. After I did this they lined up well. So if your having troubles fitting the wrench onto your barrel nut STOP and check your pins before you damage the barrel nut. Everything else looks and works well.

1 of 1 found this helpful Slid it on. Tightened it down to 35lbs. Checked alignment. Alignment was perfect. What more do you need. Worked like a charm.
