I like this player
It works pretty good as long as you don't try to pair it with a remote. I have been to the store for three different ones in the last two days, punching through codes and spending hours trying to pair them. I think the age of the component is to blame. I will try an older remote made by the manufacturer. I was suprised to find some in the package still on ebay. Next time I would get a player with SDTV because the one I was replacing served as my converter box, so I had to buy one of those to get the regular TV channels back. What I thought would be a simple replacement of my worn out dvd/vcr combo turned out to be quite time-consuming, and more expensive than i was counting on. Thank goodness for online shopping, tho. Seller tested the equipment, and that's why I bought it. It was very clean, packaged well with bubble wrap and styrofoam -- and the box seemed kind of weak and was ripped open on a corner, which did not affect the inside.
