Used as phase inverter. Great for bright highs, clear mids, and clean lows.
1 of 1 found this helpful The vintage Sylvania 12AT7 with the square getter is an phenomenal tube that works well in the Phase Inverter slot of my Peavey Classic 50. I purchased the tube with the sole intent on using it as a phase inverter. After watching a couple of shootout videos on Youtube, I settled on the sound of this particular tube. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed in my purchase. The clean highs are brighter than with the old Electro Harmonx 12AX7. The EHX's aren't bad tubes, they were not the sound I was looking for. The low end, through the Sylvania PI is retained and the tonal clarity through the tube is pristine. I would recommend this in the Phase Inverter slot if you're looking for bright highs, clear mids, and clean, punchy lows.
