Good motherboard except for a flakey lan port

This board replaced a board hit by lightning. Everything worked except the lan port. After running diagnostic I found the lan port to function for a few minutes then fail. I installed a PCI ethernet card I had laying around. I ran a virus scan and found the system was infected. After making several attemps to clean the the system I tried doing a system recovery. The system was not tattoo and the system recovery would not install. I sent the system to Computer Surgeons to be tattoo. The system has a fresh install and is running fast. I had to paid more than &100.00 to get the system tattoo. But if the system was not infected I would not have needed it to be tattoo and the motherboard would have work with a network card add to get the system running.
