Great Job!
We enjoyed the first edition for several trips to East Africa but that copy was now some twenty years old and getting tattered. We appreciated the work by Stevenson and Fanshawe and more than one of our safari guides also used the same. And, as we were contemplating a return to East Africa for 2023 I ordered the Second edition.
It arrived and I am quite pleased with it. Covers some 1,448 species with 3,500 color images on 289 plates which are beautiful. Included are a number of changes in common names and even alternative common names. Range maps now include major rivers and highland areas (above 2,000 meters). Plus, three colors and two hash schemes better reflect seasonal and yearly residents and breeding areas.
My wife and I are hardly serious/expert birders but we do enjoy being able to identify birds seen while on safari and once home viewing trip pictures. The second edition will be very useful on future trips and is already a great reference when reviewing online trip reports.
The one issue I have is being a paperback book, the covers are likely to bend/wrinkle. This causes page corners to become bent/dog-eared even with reasonable care. I can live with that given savings in weight and undoubtedly price.
I am glad I purchased the second edition!

Good description
Not only good as a lenton devotional but as an excellent faith reading as a book. Also could be used as a small group/ Sunday School study.
